The training was conducted in a school (Our Lady of Good Counsel) near Kampala where 20 high school students attended the training. These students were selected out of 500 students who applied for a DIY School Solar Enterprise challenge organised by our partners. Our partners who have been working in this area, had a vision to expand this teaching to a 1000 students who would not only build their own solar lamps, but also organize workshops in surrounding un-electrified communities.
